Hard Hat Sticker: Oberlin hotel field employee verification
Pictured above is the now functioning site verification sticker that I was fortunate enough to design.
On large job sites where more than 80 workers from various subcontractors may be present each day, clear identification and verified access are essential. To improve safety, organization, and accountability, I proposed and helped implement Matthews Construction Co.'s site verification sticker system as part of my role as a communications specialist.
The system ensures that every individual on-site is properly identified, tied to a verified company, and authorized by Matthews Construction to be there. To make this system both efficient and visible, I suggested that all verified workers place the stickers on their hard hats. This allows superintendents to quickly and clearly verify who is permitted to perform work on-site—no guesswork, no confusion.
This simple yet effective communication tool has improved coordination across crews, strengthened trust between teams, and reinforced Matthews Construction’s commitment to professionalism, safety, and clear communication on every project.
